Flexible configuration of internal overbookings by category

We would like to propose an improvement related to availability management by typology, especially in cases where we want to manually control internal overbooking and apply controlled upgrade strategies.

Currently, from the PMS it is not possible to configure overbookings by specific typology and by specific date. The only existing option is to apply a "+1" in the general inventory, but this is applied globally and constantly, which is neither useful nor operative for our case.

In our specific case, we would like to be able to increase the inventory of lower categories on specific dates, knowing that we can perform internal upgrades to higher categories that we know will not be sold and whose price we do not want to cannibalize. This would allow us to:

• Sell more units without having to lower the price of higher categories and perform free upgrades.

• Make the most of the available inventory.

• Apply this strategy in a timely manner, and not in a generalized way.

For example, if on a specific date we want to oversell standard category rooms, we need to be able to manually add +1 or +2 units to that typology for that specific day, without affecting the rest of the dates or typologies.

The problem is that, although from Siteminder we can modify that inventory manually, the system automatically synchronizes with Hotelgest, and if in Hotelgest there is 0 availability, the availability in Siteminder is updated to 0, thus eliminating any attempt to oversell.

Therefore, we believe that the ideal solution would be that this overbooking management could be done directly from Hotelgest, and that this information would be synchronized with the channel manager like any other availability. Even if you do not want this to affect the actual availability reports, it could be treated as an additional virtual capacity or as a block temporarily released for sale.

Having this functionality would allow us to apply more accurate revenue strategies, without the need to constantly modify prices or make manual adjustments.
