We wanted to propose an improvement that would be very useful for us to automate the sending of the online check-in to customers who book through channels such as Booking, Airbnb or Expedia.
Each booking generates a unique online check-in link, which forces us to send it manually (usually by WhatsApp) since:
Airbnb does not allow email communication.
Booking uses temporary aliases that do not always work.
In the automated message templates of these channels, it is not possible to customize the individual link.
To be able to generate a generic online check-in link, which takes the customer to a validation screen, where they enter:
Check-in date (and optionally check-out).
Reservation code (either Hotelgest's internal code or the channel code).
With this information, the system would automatically redirect to the individual link in your webapp.
This would allow us to:
Include that generic link in automated messaging templates.
Avoid manual mailings.
Ensure that the customer has received the link and facilitate the fulfillment of the online check-in.
