Generic online check-in link for external channel templates

We wanted to propose an improvement that would be very useful for us to automate the sending of the online check-in to customers who book through channels such as Booking, Airbnb or Expedia.

Current situation:

Each booking generates a unique online check-in link, which forces us to send it manually (usually by WhatsApp) since:

  • Airbnb does not allow email communication.

  • Booking uses temporary aliases that do not always work.

  • In the automated message templates of these channels, it is not possible to customize the individual link.

Proposal:

To be able to generate a generic online check-in link, which takes the customer to a validation screen, where they enter:

  • Check-in date (and optionally check-out).

  • Reservation code (either Hotelgest's internal code or the channel code).

With this information, the system would automatically redirect to the individual link in your webapp.

This would allow us to:

  • Include that generic link in automated messaging templates.

  • Avoid manual mailings.

  • Ensure that the customer has received the link and facilitate the fulfillment of the online check-in.
